Esa es la conclusión del análisis reciente de Gray Newman, economista de Morgan Stanley, sobre las perspectivas económicas de América Latina para 2007. He aquí un extracto de su análisis:
"Brazil and Mexico are showing limited signs of dealing with today’s abundance to build the conditions for sustainable growth. ... their medium-term prospects leave much to be desired. Both need reforms to boost revenues to fund important increases in public investment in health and education and increased infrastructure financing ... in Mexico’s case, an overall boost in revenues needs to be accompanied by a much more efficient public administration ...
What concerns me the most, however, is that Latin America’s new-found stability seems more likely to impede rather than to bolster a new wave of much-needed micro reforms to improve competitiveness and potential GDP growth."
